Dave (as usual) is right on here. Othmann is so overrated by this fanbase because he was the top prospect at one point. Unfortunately, that was more about everyone else being worse than him being great. But, speaking of great, everyone should follow the great @DaveyUpper. #NYR
The big talk about this is that Cuylle was not on last year Development Camp Roster, and he made the Rangers team. Othmann is here, implying he might not make the #NYR next year. He better have a good camp as Berard is right on his heels.
If they trade for or sign a right wing, and Othmann makes the team, there’s no spot for Kakko. Same thing we said at deadline if they acquired one with term. Kakko’s deal doesn’t mean he’s back next year at all. #NYR
San Jose Sharks have claimed F Barclay Goodrow off of waivers. The Rangers open up $3.64M in salary cap space in each of the next 3 seasons. #NYR.
If the Sharks claim Goodrow, that frees up $3.64M a year for 3 years, which means if the Rangers buyout or trade Trouba 50% retained, it’s essentially a wash financially. 🤔
