I couldn't have one without the other. I painted @JoeBiden because he stutters just like me. He showed me that speaking slowly kinda masks a stutter. @KamalaHarris @JoeBiden
This is a must watch!
TA: A video that really impacted me is "The Danger of a Single Story" by Chimamanda Adichie. When we hear & understand one another, our hearts + minds change. This is a powerful reminder of how often we assume things based one one singular story. #LeadLAP ted.com/talks/chimaman…
If you don’t buy this book after watching @emilyfranESL then you must not teach #ELs!
BookTalk - Reading & Writing with English Learners by @ValentinaESL & @DrMelindaMiller published by @Seidlitz_Ed ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️s book with core values centered on #ELs. It’s a framework for K-5, but as a HS ESL teacher, I see it as a go-to guide for teaching 📖 & ✍🏽 with ELs!
This is exactly why we have to intentionally plan for & leave space for students’ voice in our classroom no matter the environment (virtual or f2f). Let them talk. Provide scaffolds to support academic language & vocabulary, set up routines, & be consistent @ELmagazine 🙌🏽

Yay for highlighting student assets! Thank you, @WCEPS @WIDAConsortium, for bringing this into focus and stressing it.
Unfortunately, our great country does not provide adequate facilities and resources for the mentally ill, especially young people. Even if incidents are reported and there is a well-documented case, there will likely be no beds available for the individual. This MUST Change.
So many signs that the Florida shooter was mentally disturbed, even expelled from school for bad and erratic behavior. Neighbors and classmates knew he was a big problem. Must always report such instances to authorities, again and again!
