“We have to get soft with the people and hard with the problem” — @alokvmenon So beautifully put
☀️Good morning, @NYCSpeakerAdams @NYCMayor and @NYCCouncil! ☀️As you arrive to work this morning, I hope you see all the nonprofit leaders who were up all night fighting for #JustPay for their workers. Show you care as much as we do. Fund the 6.5% COLA and multi year deal!
It should tell you something that @HSC_NY nonprofit execs are still turning out at 1am and #UpAllNight to get @NYCMayorsOffice @NYCMayor @NYCCouncil @NYCSpeakerAdams. Help us #JustPay our nyc contracted colleagues and teams!? W/ @sastra #KenJockers @HudsonGuild @expand_school
What keeps us up at night!? The #JustPay fight! That’s why nonprofit leaders are staying up all night for #JustPay TOMORROW outside City Hall. We won’t stop until @NYCMayor funds a 6.5% COLA and multi-year deal for human services workers!
Nonprofit workers have earned our city's support. @NYCSpeakerAdams, we're counting on you to include a 6.5% COLA in this year's budget and 16.5% increase over the next 3 years. It's time to give human services workers the #JustPay they deserve.
Through crisis after crisis, workers at our member organizations have kept New York City going. They've had New York's back - and now, it's time for New York to have theirs. @NYCSpeakerAdams MUST fight for #JustPay and include a COLA in this year's budget.
“We shouldn’t be coming back year after year. ... We shouldn’t have to fight for this. You have to be giving people money to be able to live.”@MHANYSCEO @MHAacrossNYS in @timesunion. We need an 8.5% COLA! @NYSenate @NYSA_Majority @theNetworkNY timesunion.com/state/article/…
Essential human services workers are still vastly underpaid, resulting in huge staffing shortages, impacting vulnerable NYers. The state needs to #JustPay this critical workforce with an 8.5% COLA to begin addressing this unfair gap. @NYSenate @NYSA_Majority @theNetworkNY
"Supportive housing is a proven model that works. It’s time for the governor and state lawmakers to provide it with the sustainable, 21st-century funding it requires." Kevin O'Connor @JosephsHouse_74 in @timesunion. @NYSenate @NYSA_Majority SAVE NYSSHP! timesunion.com/opinion/articl…
Scott mentions the staff turnover in supportive housing and how hard it is to build trust with someone and then have them leave. This is a critical facet of the staffing crisis in human services. Poverty wages and staff burnout impacts services #FlippingtheScript #JustPay
The Health & Housing Consortium is proud to sign onto this letter to @CarlHeastie and @AndreaSCousins to #IncreaseCashAssistance Now! New Yorkers rely on these benefits to support themselves and their families. Raise the allowance to FMR to lift these New Yorkers out of poverty
We signed-on the letter calling on @CarlHeastie & @AndreaSCousins to #IncreaseCashAssistance! Today, the median monthly rent in NYC is $3,267, yet a single mother with 2 children residing in Manhattan is only receiving a shelter allowance of $400 per month. We need change now!
The only thing that gets me up at 5am (other than my baby) is fighting for #JustPay for NYS human services workers! Pay them what they’re worth! @bxconsortium here in Albany for our members who are providing vital services for New Yorkers
"Hospitals have long been places where unhoused and unsheltered New Yorkers seek care and refuge, but those who do so are rarely counted in the city’s official tally of unsheltered populations." Opinion by @BonnieMohan & Tess Sommer of @bxconsortium: bit.ly/3XzlDcc

Opinion: City’s Homeless Count Misses a Critical Population—Unhoused New Yorkers in Hospitals -...
"The city's annual census–known as the Homeless Outreach Population Estimate (HOPE)–has served as a tool for measuring our progress toward ending street homelessness. However, HOPE misses a critical...
