Catherine: Education around consent is important. We can't ignore it just to avoid rejection. Teach about disappointment early on. #byouthwc

Chris: Resiliency is more than just an individual thing. We need strong communities to deal with some of the issues in our world. #byouthwc

Christianne: Rejection is a part of life. We need to teach kids resiliency and coping skills to deal with it. #byouthwc

Chris: A difference of opinions is healthy. It's when they cross the line and take it to extremist actions that it's a problem. #byouthwc

Catherine: In some cases, radical opinions are a part of the journey to discovering who you are. #byouthwc

Christianne: Any drastic change in behaviour is an opportunity to intervene whether it's a risk factor or not. #byouthwc

Chris: You've got to show government why it works and celebrate the successes of prevention efforts. #byouthwc

Chris: Focusing on prevention is cheaper. It's hard to convince funding agencies of it, but it is the smarter choice. #byouthwc

Catherine: Funding sometimes depends on how current your topic is. Funding orgs want to see groups working together. #byouthwc

Q: Where is the money to address these issues going to come from? #byouthwc

Chris: That trust between law enforcement and the public needs to be there, too. Build relationships with community members. #byouthwc

Christianne: Fear leads to marginalization. We have to look at how the media coverage is creating that emotional response. #byouthwc

Q: How can recent incidents mobilize youth into extremism and how can we prevent it? #byouthwc

Christianne: We need to look at this as a societal issue. We need to educate our kids about all kinds of radicalization. #byouthwc

Chris: It affects people of all cultures and communities. If you're not taking that perspective, you're failing. #byouthwc

Q: How can we address concerns about radicalization without profiling or stigmatizing certain cultures? #byouthwc

Catherine: You can use today's conference presentations as a way to start the conversation about what your family values. #byouthwc

Christianne: Sometimes it's good to bring someone else in to help the kids full in those gaps. Embrace their curiosities. #byouthwc
