It is with a sad heart that we share the news that longtime track and field visionary and promoter Al Franken has passed away. He truly was one of a kind and a legend in many ways. We lost one of the best ever today. He was 96. Rest In Peace, Big Guy. 🙏🏻
For the first time in my career I was exposed to HIGH LEVEL track athletes. My main takeaways: 1) Track athletes move different then most team sport athletes when sprinting: fluid, coordinated & with intent 2) Training for track raises all tides of athletic development

Never underestimate heart and desire! There are hundreds of XC and Track athletes each year that won’t get recruited by any major program, but they will end up beating the state champs in college!!!
Current or ever? Ever is Courtney Frerichs. I should know, first week on the job I asked our jumps coach why we gave her any money. Boy was I wrong. 2:24 800 and 51st at state in xc to 7x all-american, collegiate record holder and Olympian in 5 years.
