"Yona of the Dawn" has ended today in Hana to Yume 2/2026 after 16 years of serialization. The series has sold over 15 million copies among 46 volumes and spawned multiple adaptations including a TV anime with an upcoming sequel in production.
One of the things I’m most excited to see in season 2 is how Yona slowly and gradually starts to fall for Hak, the way she begins to notice him and get nervous around him. Hakyona is going to deliver a real slow burn.
I’m not sure if this has been mentioned but I really like the parallel between these two covers. First cover uses darker and harsher colours symbolising Yona’s current and future difficulties whereas the most recent cover is brighter and contrasts well to symbolise peace + wisdom
I really hope the second season is 24 episodes because the water tribe arc is one of my favorite arcs!. Imagine getting chapter 91 finally voiced and animated😩😭
