The weather keeps getting colder here. One #physicsMyth is that winter occurs when we're furthest from the sun. But if that was the case, the southern hemisphere would experience the same seasons as us! Instead, it has to do with the tilt of the earth.

Congrats to @BoiseState McNair Scholar Zoë Hutchinson who received a Graduate Research Fellowship Program (GRFP) award through the @NSF. Hutchinson graduated in May with a bachelor of science degree in physics with a biology emphasis. boisestate.edu/education/blog… @BoiseStateCOED
