I love assassin bugs! This zelus luridus watches for prey with its bright red eyes, ready to nab it with its sticky-haired, front legs.

One of the tropical milkweeds I started from seed in March have bloomed - and lured in some pollinators.

This striking sawfly (Acantholyda erythrocephala) was checking out my fennel. Pine trees are the host to these non-native sawflies.
