Tomorrow afternoon, my updates to the City’s #InclusionaryHousing regulations are coming to Council.

@SDCityCouncil is set to vote Tuesday on Council President @GGomezD9’s proposal to force developers to pay for or build more low-income #housing as part of their projects. Gómez says the time for negotiating is over.” voiceofsandiego.org/topics/governm…

.@BuildBetterSD was there too to ensure incentives were targeted at the real need. Until there is an alternative housing delivery model incentivizing private developers is one of our limited options. Next up, new language will be drafted for City Council consideration.

Thank you to my colleagues, @CirculateSD, @SDHFtweets, SD Housing Commission, BIA, and Planning Dept. staff for your support of my middle income housing proposal. It is vital that we increase the housing supply in San Diego and provide opportunities for middle-income families

We strongly support a higher, stronger inclusionary housing policy for the City of San Diego, and are heartened to see that data demonstrates that they are effective at increasing affordable housing stock without negatively impacting overall production. #HousingForAll

This story feels impossible but is actually real. Anyone in any position to influence public policy and the implementation of public works projects should read this. We can be as good as this, all the time. #CommunityBenefitsAgreements #PublicWorks #Infrastructure #MakeItMatter

The challenge for San Diego's working class is finding work that will allow them to support their families and a viable means for commuting when the only housing they can afford is often in neighborhoods much further away. #TransitJusticeIsWorkerJustice sandiegouniontribune.com/opinion/sd-new…
