Construct the Constitution Avenue Canal!
@BuildConstCanal
You can still see the locks from when Constitution Avenue NW was a canal from 1815 to 1871. Bring it back! Replace one road with pleasant watercraft and parks!

Like this all the time
Wrong street, canal needs to be on Constitution not Pennsylvania

You know what wouldn't take 45 minutes along Constitution Avenue? Boats!

Unironically, @BuildConstCanal would be one of the most transformative quality-of-life improvements to downtown
Did you know that Constitution Avenue was once a canal? Part of the original plans for the city, the Washington Canal ran from the Potomac River past the White House before cutting across the National Mall closer to the Capitol. Learn more: nps.gov/articles/histo… #WashingtonDC

The Constitution Ave canal would not serve Gallery Place-Chinatown station
Happy Thanksgiving!
I'm preparing a new set of maps showing DC's lost streams, watershed by watershed. Here's a draft of the first map: Slash Run and Brown's Run, flowing from Adams Morgan through Cardozo and Dupont.
A boat would be faster than a bus or Uber on Constitution avenue!
I feel obligated to report that I failed #WeekWithoutDriving. I've been walking to/from work daily (Eckington to Capitol Hill) and Ethan and I took Metro for our date night. But had to rush to Georgetown after work yesterday and took an Uber on Constitution ave, faster than bus.
This could be DC, @MayorBowser ! #bringbackdowntown
The San Antonio Riverwalk is a walkable public space filled with charming businesses and pathways, which has made it the most popular destination in Texas. Great places like this are common throughout Europe, yet scarce in North America. Why do you think that is?

Washington DC is going to have almost 100 acres of cleared land once RFK stadium is demolished and I’m really curious what they’ll do with it. That’s a lot of space! You could build something cool there!
Imagine if a boat could help this bus!

Would be even prettier waterside!
