Update: “they lied to me” Vietnam veteran Robert says @LASDHQ deputies dropped him off at the VA and left Wednesday. He slept outside that night in his wheelchair after deputies threw away his belongings and cheered he was going to get housed. @SpecNews1SoCal
Deputies from @LASDHQ are helping this Vietnam veteran pack up his belongings and get to the VA, because he needs medical treatment. The deputies say beds are available and they hope this is the first step to getting him into shelter or housing.
I was late to protest pro-criminalizing-the-vulnerable mayoral candidate @JoeBuscaino & took only one photo today. I know I gotta step it up, but Bill made a flute from a Swifer & plays pop songs. I want a mayor who grasps the brilliance of the ppl this City wants to swifer away.
Today a drunk driver caused a car crash by our power-up station. Luckily, no one was injured. Encampment residents immediately jumped into action to provide assistance and direct traffic. Unhoused neighbors are community members and are often first to respond to crises.
Every time I see this mural, it is a honor and humbling experience. It's the motivation to get the stories that mainstream media ignore or shallowly cover.

Unhoused women will spend another day soaked by rain with no heat, electricity or protection from the pandemic which btw is STILL claiming lives. 53 days have passed since FEMA offered full reimbursement for hotel rooms @MayorOfLA peoples lives depend on you acting now.
