#CASChat A5: Create an inclusive learning environment where girls are able to be themselves.


#CASChat A4: Making good use of parents evenings, department newsletters, school trips and careers evenings. Build a community around computing.


#CASChat A3: Relate as much as possible to real world contexts. Having a bank of examples that go along with your curriculum will help. The @CASInclude website has some of these ready for you to use!


#CASChat A2: Making the leadership team aware of the importance of training staff, making use of the NCCE CPD is a good place to start!


#CASChat A1: Computer Science works really well with Art, Design and Technology and Music. These might be subject areas to start with when looking at linking up with another department. Using whole class/school topics in primary can also support with this.

Interesting yet concerning article in @HelloWorld_Edu about barriers for computing for girls in Europe. The UK girls having the lowest uptake of participation in computing. Would be keen to reflect on how we can address the 6 barriers identified. Maybe a topic for a @caschat_uk?
