Fine: Let’s be very clear what this is, tho. These are the unpaid costs of previous generations’ services. Sure the funds have been mismanaged by Lansing. But the original sin was—and still is—unwillingness by Lansing to actually fund their mandated gov’t programs.
Michigan is making progress on pension debts but there’s a long way to go… taxpayers are still on the hook for more than $50 billion! Paying off these long-term liabilities would free up our state budget to pay for priorities like roads. bit.ly/2GCWdrS
