This is the logical endpoint of IVF. Children become commodities or property that we can create, discard, or preserve as it suits us rather than human persons with dignity.

Dystopian. Parents can now turn their "leftover" IVF embryos, living children, into jewelry. We are treating human life as decoration — a keepsake of convenience.

They’ve really eviscerated the Mass for All Souls’ Day, haven’t they!

On 31st October we mark the 1st Anniversary of the National Buffer Zone, which bans prayer & offers of help or support to expectant mothers within 150 metres of every abortion centre. Although we have had to move  down the road, we're still there seeing.. mariastopsabortion.blogspot.com/2025/10/ending…

If you are free on 1st November, and would like to attend Mass for All Saints, come to the Holy Child and Sr Joseph in Bedford 12noon for a TLM with Bishop Eleganti, polyphony and period instruments! @latinmassuk

I see that our bishops, in their wisdom, have moved the celebration of All Saints to All Souls’ Day. We, however, will be singing the All Saints Mass on Saturday.

Thread…

A thread about headcoverings. Whenever it comes up people say 'it was the custom of the time' as a reason to ignore St Paul's emphatic command and subtle theological explanation of the practice. But it was not the custom of the time, and demonstrably so. 1/

This is a fascinating talk: highly recommended!

Today’s Feast (from Matins - traditional)

That’s a challenging vocation for a Catholic; to be married to a woman who is delusional enough to think she’s the Archbishop of Canterbury! #oremus

It's the eve of Michaelmas, the great feast of St Michael and All Angels - an invocation of the powers of light as the year turns towards the darker days of autumn. Here's a thread on Michaelmas daisies, geese, moons, and other traditional namesakes of the angels' feast.

Michaelmas, on 29 September, is not only an important festival in the church year but in England also historically the autumn quarter-day. It marked a moment of transition: the shift from the harvest season into later autumn, the start of new contracts and new school terms.
