Reposting this because the application deadline is now less than a month off! If you're a grad student working on topics relating to the Cold War (very broadly defined), please take a look. If you teach or know someone in that category, please tell them the same. Everyone—repost!

Baseball isn't everyone's "thing" but I'm going to hype this. The space is more like a sports bar/arcade. Comes with a $30 food/beverage/merchandise voucher. Grad student tickets only cost $25...do the math #SHAFR2024

The #SHAFR2024 social event changed venues. We will now attend a Blue Jays vs. Guardians game! Tickets are for one of the newly renovated social spaces at Rogers Centre and include food/drink vouchers.

It was a real pleasure to join Miranda Melcher on the @NewBooksNetwork podcast to talk about my book! I spoke not only about the big ideas of the book but also some of the stories, and even the process of writing the book itself. Listen here: newbooksnetwork.com/made-in-china

In 1973, too, there were both pro-Arab and pro-Israeli demonstrations in the US, although circumstances differed greatly. From @salimyaqub63 ‘s excellent IMPERFECT STRANGERS

As today, unions and everyday workers (have) played an important role in the struggle to end apartheid. Check out @MattieCWebb’s latest piece on transnational worker solidarity in @BlkPerspectives

Glad to see the publication of our forum on the entwined (and complicated!) histories of humanitarianism and the US military. My contribution focuses on the US military's role in disaster assistance operations during the 20th century. Open access. cambridge.org/core/journals/…
