The #Seahawks have won six straight games. Their last loss was to the Rams. The #49ers have won six straight games. Their last loss was to the Rams.
There were a lot of free rushers on Sam in this game. He seemed under duress for most of it. Not a good pass pro game by the OL or the scheme, in the first half especially ...
Sam Darnold's 25.3 QBR Sunday was his second-worst of the year. “I know it wasn't Sam's best game of all-time and the stats reflect that," Mike Macdonald said, "but there are some big-time third-down throws with pressure in his face." Like this third-and-4 in the fourth quarter
I don't think Sam Darnold's offensive line is reliable.
"I don't think [Sam Darnold] is reliable." @dannykanell does not trust Sam Darnold to help the Seahawks make a playoff push.
I picked the Hawks to go 13-4 and probably still underestimated them by a game: chawktalk.com/2025/05/30/veg…
2025 NFL Preseason Prognostications from ESPN and CBS on the Seahawks...
QBs with consecutive 13-win seasons in NFL history Tom Brady Peyton Manning Aaron Rodgers Brett Favre Sam Darnold
The Seahawks held Carolina to 139 total yards, 2.7 per play and 1 of 11 on third down. Bryce Young threw for 54 yards on 24 attempts. Julian Love picked him off and Seattle got another takeaway via a forced fumble by DeMarcus Lawrence. Love on a dominant day for Seattle’s D:
Also, the Seahawks' current point differential of +181 is tied with the 2005 team for the second best in franchise history behind only the 2013 team, which was +186.
A few @Seahawks notes: * Highest scoring team in franchise history (470 points) * 19 wins in last 24 games (1st NFL) * Tied franchise record for most wins in a season (13) and most road wins in a season (7) * Has not allowed a 100-yard rusher in a franchise record 25 consecutive…
Macdonald said it's "probably going to be some time" with Cody White, who left in the first quarter with a groin injury. Rashid Shaheed also went down in the first half with a concussion.
The Seahawks defense shut down the Panthers: 🔒 40 passing yards allowed 🔒 2 sacks 🔒 1 interception 🔒 1 fumble recovery
Play-action Sam has an easy TD to AJ Barner, his 6th touchdown reception of the year
Darnold hesitated on the throw. He should have back-shouldered that to JSN
Carolina's offense, #Seahawks defense on the field. Review of the interception doesn't change the call on the field. Panthers ball on Darnold's end-zone interception.
OL having trouble in pass pro. But the run game is there. Kubiak needs a more dynamic approach in second half. Step up the tempo, lean heavily into play action. Create a rhythm. Find JSN.
Seahawks offense with some more sleepwalking thru a 1st half. Their possessions today: punt FG punt fumble turnover on downs Sam's lost fumble led to Carolina's 9-yard FG drive, their only points of the day.
That's at least three Sam Darnold throws that have nearly been intercepted off of deflections. That one went through Cooper Kupp's hands.
Great job by Sundell to knock the ball out so that was not a pick off Kupp's drop. Darnold is the embodiment of the phrase, "Turnovers are a team stat."
This is GM John Schneider's almost-subtle way of supporting Derick Hall, the #Seahawks LB the NFL suspended for today's game at Carolina for stepping on a fallen Rams offensive lineman.
Mike Macdonald began his news conference with a “Merry Christmas Eve” and a few words on Derick Hall’s suspension. He defended Hall, saying the Seahawks accept the NFL’s decision but disagree with it. “I just really refuse to believe there was ill intent in that play.”
Byron Murphy resides in the Pro Bowl section of this chart -- yet no Pro Bowl. Tsk, tsk, voters
Fun chart by Brian. Schneider has been on a roll since 2022. Big reason Mike Macdonald was able to quickly build a great defense. Incredible quick pivot too by both guys at the QB position and on offense in general this year.
With Sam Darnold making the Pro Bowl, it completes a feat by John Schneider that has never been done twice by the same GM. Few have done it once. Traded a QB. Got meaningful return value. Replaced immediately with a Pro Bowl player. Traded QB dropoff massive. Exec of the Year
Spoon being a starter while A. not putting up big stats, and B. not finishing super high in fan voting (6th among NFC CBs), is a good indicator of how much opposing players & coaches recognize his impact. It's why Mike Macdonald called him, "the sparkplug behind the whole thing."
Six Seahawks were selected to the NFC team for the 2026 Pro Bowl Games: shwks.com/ku3004oi
New: Rashid Shaheed is becoming the difference-maker the #Seahawks need to make a run down the stretch. Last 3 games: 100-yard kickoff TD 58-yard punt return TD 31-yard carry (2nd longest for SEA this year) 9 catches, 141 yards nytimes.com/athletic/69095…
