Securely storing stuff and things for winter.

While you're all at @BSidesLondon I'm trailblazing the newest coolest and hippest conference. Bsidescenterparcs . You don't know what you're missing... It involves whisky

Dental work sucks... Soup mostly.

#CybersecurityAwarenessMonth day 16 Intermission. Half way through. Are we all more aware yet? The theme tune to Slow Horses has to be the best TV theme since The Sopranos.

#CybersecurityAwarenessMonth day 43568. It never ends there's always someone to help and to guide to seeing the light of doing the right thing and thinking about all the risk and trying to minimise the impact a little more.

#CybersecurityAwarenessMonth day 12. If someone tells you something in confidence. Keep it confidential. Much like your toothbrush, don't share secrets.

#CybersecurityAwarenessMonth day 11. Friday. Career change time, just been called to the bar. Pub?

#CybersecurityAwarenessMonth day 10. #Lanyardgate started in earnest today. Already exonerated I'm able to just watch this unfold from the sidelines. It's the business critical stuff like this that makes life worth living somedays

Day 9 of #CybersecurityAwarenessMonth and I got a gift. A new lanyard, that's promoting cyber awareness but also completely against the standards and policy we have. That was today's first "I told you so" or FAFO awareness moment.

#CybersecurityAwarenessMonth day 8. Today is #AdaLovelaceDay . Without her and visionaries like her we all may not be here today doing what we do with 'puters. And, the language I learnt to programme in might have been call Ichbiah instead... #smallmercies

Day 6 of #CyberSecurityAwareness month was a day of rest. Day 7 brought more incoming awareness than outgoings. Not sure that's how it's supposed to work is it?

#CybersecurityAwarenessMonth day 5. Still no gift Lots of password chatter on here today. My awareness tip? Make it long and don't do the obvious replacements of e for 3, a for @ etc.

#CybersecurityAwarenessMonth DBAD and remember when you've set up a direct debit, that way we don't have to waste resources investigating an alleged raid on an account for money.

#CybersecurityAwarenessMonth day 3, cyber santa still hasn't been. In 2022, over 4 million websites were infected with malware. It's likely more now isn't it?

#cyberawarenessmonth day 2... Still on cards or presents. As of Jan 2024, about 21 percent of organizations in the UK reported experiencing a data breach event once a month. Cyber is for life not just October.

So it's the end of day 1 of #cyberawarenessmonth. Not one person has brought me a card or a present.

The crowd strike thing worries me in a big way, not just because a major vendor can mess up and have such major consequences, but how many major orgs didn't test an update before pushing to their prod and effectively kneecapped themselves? Root cause isn't always in one place.

My take aways from @CYBERUKevents #cyberuk24? It's still a challenge but it's not all doom and gloom, security needs to be central, babies are snotty for a reason, and it's ok to feel crap for a time when you need to. Oh, and you don't want shit in a hairdryer.

Finally sorted my travel out for @CYBERUKevents next week. Nothing like planning ahead.

Friday evening pub discussion... Why does Siri grunt at you (uh huh?) and not always do what you ask? Turns out Siri is a 13 yr old teenager. Apple users have another 7 years of this ... #apple #siri

Spend half my time wondering if I've written them...

Someday, I'll tell some of the stories behind my tweets. Until then, everyone will just have to wonder...
