I personally don’t understand insisting that we must all live in doctor’s office spaces.
i am honestly baffled. are there seriously people who think the 1990 version is better looking? it's awful, an unpleasant mix of busy and frumpy. the 2024 version is clean and pleasant. not even a question that it's a huge improvment.
Aurora borealis? At this time of year? At this time of day? In this part of the country? Not localized entirely in my kitchen. While you’re thinking of it, please read my story about the Steamed Hams meme from the Simpsons I wrote last month. ctvnews.ca/winnipeg/artic…
If you’re writing a James Bond movie and you’re hung up on continuity with the last James Bond movie you probably shouldn’t be writing a Bond movie.
The great tragedy of our time is that people expect art without craft, writing without effort, relationships without friction. But that effort, that friction, shapes us and gives us dignity. The work of making something is what makes you.
my most boomer take is that being endlessly gentle with yourself all the time and never forcing yourself to do anything you don’t want to do isn’t self care it’s lazy and it’s bad for you
i’ve said it before, but depicting the moment when gomez fell irretrievably in love with morticia through him suddenly able to breathe properly was so beautiful. what a way to show being unburdened and finding what you've been missing your whole life
Thinking about how Morticia quite literally healed Gomez just by existing like he met her and suddenly life rocks and he can breathe and every day is the best day ever
My dad’s favourite wrestler growing up.
Édouard Carpentier remains a wrestling anachronism to me. He debuted in 1953, but a lot of his moves would feel innovative in 2025.
I think we under-estimate how many people are miserable because they have no enthusiasms, no hobbies, because they gave up reading and quit learning when school ended. It's shocking how much studying a beloved subject elevates your mood. It will transform your life.
Rarely will you find a more fierce, vicious, & determined debater than one who “Kinda Knows” what they are talking about…
Writing tip The 1st Thing Rule Figure out the 1st thing you're going to write the day before. It can be dialogue, a joke, anything to hit the ground running. That way you're not staring at a page Or save something you like at end of day to write tomorrow Then start 1st thing
Gather round children so that I may tell you of the long distant past, a time of myth and legend known colloquially as the “1990s.”
Imagine only releasing 3 albums in 30 years, all of which defined a genre and generations.
I dunno something about Canada's team spanking America's team at the American past time that just feels more fulfilling this season.
Got to write about The Simpsons this week and speak with former writer/showrunner Bill Oakley about the meme and how a Winnipeg YouTube Crestor has elevated it to an art form. ctvnews.ca/winnipeg/artic…

Maybe the best path forward at this point is for us all to go fishing with Fonzie.
F. Scott Fitzgerald, can you feel it
