Very proud of the @SchmidtFellows team for working with @timeshighered to develop the Interdisciplinary Science Rankings. Shout out to my alma mater, @UMich, for breaking the top ten! timeshighereducation.com/interdisciplin…
Today, the atmosphere on @NIH campus was even more collaborative than usual! We brought hundreds of scientists, engineers, and clinicians together to foster new connections and create more opportunities for clinically impactful work.
Congrats to Catalina on giving her first podium presentation at UMSRS today! She presented our preliminary work on the endometrium in collaboration with @DeanReproLab - an exciting direction in which we are just getting started!
It’s been an absolute pleasure to have our REU student, Lennox, in the IBB lab this summer. We will miss her can-do attitude and talent as she returns to TN State for the fall semester. I know this bright young person will accomplish big things!
The @SchmidtFellows Interdisciplinary Science Summit in Toronto was just what I needed: a reminder that the world’s biggest problems are not solved by one person or one discipline. Forever grateful to have the support of this community of incredible scientists.
Huge thanks to the organizers @SB3Corg for putting together the best #SB3C yet! Congratulations @catabastias on your big win in the MS student paper competition! I’m so proud of our USL work with @CalveLab and @ProfGingerFerg and excited about our next project with @DeanReproLab.
Introducing the Oddity Scholars Pre-doctoral Program! We’re here to support the next generation of innovators with generous stipends and the opportunities to innovate with mentorship before a PhD. assets-global.website-files.com/645d1472451628…
The senior @SchmidtFellows conference in Chicago was absolutely extraordinary. Getting to learn from this group of brilliant, kind, and creative scientists from all over the world and across all disciplines is a privilege I will never take for granted.
We’ve funded 5 new early stage fellowship collaborations like this one via our Catalyst Grant Scheme schmidtsciencefellows.org/news/2023-cata… The program is building community and ensures emerging ideas that may find it hard to attract early funding get the chance to realize their potential…
Times Higher Education and @SchmidtFellows have partnered to develop a new Interdisciplinary Science Ranking that recognizes and celebrates interdisciplinary science in higher education worldwide. Learn more about our plans from @timeshighered.

"Team science is the best science." 🔸🤝🔹🤝 @mechseILLINOIS's Callan Luetkemeyer joined the Beckman team as a faculty researcher. Welcome, Professor Luetkemeyer! 👏 Learn about her work ▶️ bit.ly/3rPbiO2
The Musculoskeletal Extracellular Matrix Laboratory is looking for a creative postdoc to join us in Colorado to investigate how extracellular matrix remodeling is regulated by mechanical loading in the developing and adult mouse sarahcalve.com/openings
Congratulations, @catabastias! We are thrilled to have you join @mechseILLINOIS and the IBB lab. mechse.illinois.edu/news/56633
What’re the odds of two @SchmidtFellows attending the same non-Schmidt conference? Loved catching up with @HannahZlotnick at #SB3C.
Congratulations to @catabastias on another runner up win in the SB3C Student Paper Competition! I’m so excited to welcome you to UIUC this fall and to continue working together!
We embrace failure as part of the scientific process - what is important is how we respond to our failures. @Elvis_Cao and @gladys_ngetich reflect on this concept and their 'CVs of failure' in @NatureRevChem - The Need to Normalize Failure - nature.com/articles/s4157…
It’s finally official! I’m beyond excited to join the @mechseILLINOIS department at UIUC as an assistant professor in January. I couldn’t ask for a better fit, personally or professionally, and I cannot thank all those who’ve supported me enough!
Talk about an amazing debut! Catalina was recognized as a runner up in the #SB3C2022 BS level student paper competition. I’m so proud of her and our team. Many thanks to the organizers for a great conference.
