As both China and Russia are permanent members of the UN Security Council, their diplomatic alignment can also be examined through their voting behavior. On contentious measures where members did not vote unanimously, voting alignment between China and Russia was only 58.7%.

While multilateral groups like BRICS facilitate CRINK collaboration, much of the diplomatic coordination between CRINK countries occurs bilaterally, revealing considerable imbalances between global powers China and Russia and the less powerful, more isolated Iran and North Korea.
