For their long-term collaboration, designer Issey Miyake would refuse to be present when photographer Irving Penn shot his work, to limit his own influence. Today's CSM Sunday Spotlight is on "Irving Penn regards the work of Issey Miyake : photographs 1975-1998".
American artist Ben Shahn was born in 1898, in what's now Lithuania. A social realist painter and commercial artist, he had a passion for social justice and a fascination with calligraphy. This week's CSM Sunday Spotlight is on Shahn's book "Love and joy about letters".
