We are all actively awaiting the true arrival of "spring", but we still have to follow the rules of the road. This oversized vessel had no permits to be transported, which is a safety issue.
Our recommendation? Submit an application to a law enforcement agency of your choice if you want to drive with colored lights. If not, a consequence awaits you!
Lots of reminders for this week...Law Enforcement statewide and nationally will be conducting education and enforcement operations to ensure voluntary compliance, which keeps all of us safe! Don't forget, stay aware.
TSU would like to thank all law enforcement agencies and the citizens of Connecticut for their unwavering support, regarding the loss of TFC Kevin Miller. The kind thoughts, prayers and donations are very much acknowleged and appreciated. God Bless Kevin, you are missed.
This occurred during the morning commute in Waterbury. Please remember to be alert to all traffic hazards, reduce your speed in traffic and inclement weather, maintain a safe following distance and never be distracted. Thankfully, only minor injuries!
Thought you might like a math equation...the max allowed weight for this vehicle was 19,500 lbs...it weighed 26,800 lbs...does that equal the fine amount of $3,445? I didn't think so.
Narcotics K-9 Yodel at it again. Alerted to the presence of contraband in a ¾ empty coffee cup, where a stem (smoking pipe) and plastic bag was found in the liquid. Plastic bag contained three rock like pieces, which tested positive for crack cocaine. Nice job Yodel!!
Deja Vu all over again. This time, W/B I-84 X 23, vehicle stopped hauling 80K of excavator, with a chain rated to secure load of 29K. C'mon man!
E/B I-84 X 25A, vehicle stopped hauling 100K of crane, with a chain rated to secure load of 30K. Would not have turned out well if the chain broke and the load came off the bed!
Trailer was stopped on I95, S/B, in the Darien rest area. It was overweight, in addition to having some significantly insufficient tires supporting that weight. Tire fail if you've never seen one!
As advertised, Targeted Enforcement teams conducting enforcement on I-384, clocked a vehicle traveling at 124/65 zone. Matthew Milone (age 22) of Coventry was arrested after a plastic baggie containing cocaine and marijuana were observed in plain sight on the center console.
Commercial vehicle allowed weight of 80k, weighed in at 99,050 lbs. It also had two flat tires and the weight exceeded the tire safety rating on four of the other tires. Always thinking of the motoring publics safety.
This was found during an inspection...a bent brake chamber, which is visible on the left, which minimized the effectiveness of the braking of the vehicle. Taken out of service until repairs could be made.

This truck was stopped in Danbury and was 5,800 lbs overweight. The weight exceeded the tire rating, causing a failure of the sidewall.
Commercial Enforcement Units found this vehicle, which is authorized for 73K, with the third wheel 76,500, but weighed in at 78,140. The extra weight creates undue wear and tear on our already stressed roadways!
Roving Commercial Enforcement Teams along I-91 in Enfield found this oversized load: permitted for 115K, weighed in at 139,350 pounds, axle combination only rated for 130K. Taken out of service to keep us all safe!
#cttraffic Rt 2 E/B X15 area experiencing significant traffic delays due to crash w/ serious injuries.
Truck Enforcement teams, at the N/B I91 Middletown rest area, observed a truck bypass the open scale. The vehicle was stopped and interactions with the operator, Ryan Smith (age 25) of Bluefield, WV, located marijuana and a loaded Springfield Armory .45 cal handgun.
Authorized for 80K, weighed in at 105,200. Not good with math? That doesn't add up. Ultimately, UNSAFE!
