If you're a front end dev, then "CSS Secrets" by the one and only @LeaVerou is a must read
For CSS, I would always refer to CSS Secrets by @LeaVerou. The first time I found about the book was in 2015 and it holds the same value as it did back then.
“Why is the SVG path syntax so cryptic? Back when it was designed, it was believed that nobody would author SVG by hand, so the SVG WG went for the most compact syntax possible, to reduce filesize.” —@LeaVerou in #CSSSecrets
“Just like people, not all glyphs go naturally well together.” —@LeaVerou introducing ligatures in #CSSSecrets
I love this book soo much 😍
An absolute classic ! The only thing to possibly top this are @LeaVerou’s live presentations. Ahhh... in person confs. Soon again I’m sure. Enjoy!
also i liked @LeaVerou's @csssecretsbook and @keithjgrant's @CSSinDepth and @JoshWComeau's css-for-js.dev
I love that @keithjgrant’s @CSSinDepth book has box-sizing awareness as the inlay; before anything, even the table of contents, you are informed about box-sizing. @chriscoyier and @paul_irish would be proud!
Just doing a little light reading 😬
Top 3 dev books? * @PragmaticAndy’s and @PragDave’s The Pragmatic Programmer 👍 * @LeaVerou’s CSS Secrets 👍 * @StevenSkiena’s The Algorithm Design Manual 👍 Of my own? 😅 Not sure! I’ve grown fond of the Web Dev Glossary, but perhaps The Little Book of HTML/CSS Frameworks!
I love that @keithjgrant’s @CSSinDepth book has box-sizing awareness as the inlay; before anything, even the table of contents, you are informed about box-sizing. @chriscoyier and @paul_irish would be proud!
Huh, even in 2020, 5 years after it was published, @csssecretsbook was recommended as the "best of the best CSS book" by @chicagotribune : chicagotribune.com/consumer-revie…
+1 to CSS Secrets 🥰, and about CSS Optimization Basic I will share my opinion after reader it 😜
I love CSS Secrets from @LeaVerou . Awesome book 📖. Probably going to get the CSS optimization basics book there, is it good? 🙂
