I was diagnosed over two decades ago. As the years go by more and more of my inner circle of friends are being diagnosed. We now can now see why we all click so well.
ADHD'ers often end up finding the other ADHD'ers in their social circles, even if one (or both) are unaware of this fact. This happens because people with ADHD interact differently than non-ADHD'ers, and we're generally drawn to people who interact like we do
