I think, unfortunately we might have seen the last of Craig Slater in a #colu shirt. Looked class last season but 5th choice CM this season?
McGreal acknowledged "Crewe changed it up to how they had been playing"... So why did we remain rigid? Game was calling for wingers and direct runners ala Senior, Wright and unused sub Shodipo. #colu
McGreals got caught focusing on statistics & opposition tactics instead of reacting to what's needed 'in-game'. We've lost that spontaneity and "caution to the wind approach". I'm happy for us to focus on stability throughout the season but not when we need 7/8 wins from 12 #colu
Would've preferred to see Senior & Drey on the wings In a 4-3-3... hey ho, onto the next one... now means 3 points even more important next week
Players have to answer for this today, but IMO McGreal set us up wrong. Didn't have the personell in key positions to play 3-4-1-2. wing-backs struggled, Jacko clearly injured and not Drey's position.
Seasons not over yet but it doesn't fill me with confidence that we've struggled to break this lot down today. Crewe aren't a good team but they took their one clear chance, created more than us and stifled our attack. #colu
