A while back I had a conversation about how for cis queer people, acts of transphobia can feel uniquely paralysing. They feel very close to home. Sometimes they trip the ‘oh god, my family is in danger’ response, which means we often centre our own anger, or freeze up. 1/6
This is a great example of the white heteropatriarchy recognizing the disruptive force of bisexuality and transness. If only these were actually the values guiding our society rather than, well, white heteropatriarchy.
