Matt Holliday explains why he would be interested in Michael King as a potential free-agent addition for the Cardinals this offseason.
“Knowing Nick [Castellanos] and how he is in the clubhouse as a veteran… he has a really, really ‘want-to-win’ type personality.” Kyle Gibson explains why Nick Castellanos could be an intriguing trade target for the Cardinals.
“I would guess that is probably by committee until somebody on the current staff sort of takes over that role.” Matt Holliday says he doesn’t expect the Cardinals to bring in an outside option for the closer role.
"Grayson [Rodriguez] is a guy who can change a starting rotation pretty quickly." Kyle Gibson likes being on the side of a trade that receives quality starting pitching because it's at a premium.
Lance Lynn suggests that there should be a winter trade deadline so that free agents can know where players are and sign faster.
"Most guys want to know where their next landing spot is by Christmas." Matt Holliday says most players want free agency to move faster, like the NFL or NBA, but understands that since MLB has a free market, it will take longer.
