Automating molecular biology and related fields

Those are some parts that I made while building 4 iterations of Arnie robot during 2.5 years.
If you are a fan of The Expanse TV series, here is how the robot looks after meeting with the Protomolecule
After the numerous requests - Go Dawgs!
Some people repeat same operation at work every day, spending hours, never trying to automate it. Then, they buy iPhone over Android, because to do the same operation, iPhone requires less taps on touchscreen to make than Android, saving seconds.
Arnie wet lab automation robot uses plate gripper to move a plate between plain rack and magnetic rack. Moving plates is a necessary step for many protocols. Unlike "pipetting" robots, that require a third-party robotic arm, Arnie is "everything" robot, capable to do it by itself
A gripper for 96 wells plates is now operational. It allows Arnie robot to move those plates between different positions, unlocking for example high throughput magnetic beads purification protocols
In process of designing a gripper for 96 wells plates. Once completed, Arnie will be able to do high throughput DNA/RNA magnetic beads purification.
Completed a demo of #ArnieRobot, a universal #wetlab #automation #robot filling a 96 wells plate with three reagents of different ratio. This is a very common task in #Biology or #Genomics ; you likely spend 1-2 month of your #PhD pure time on it. y2u.be/IlYgM93iGw0

Finally completed the next version of a universal laboratory automation platform. It can perform a wide range of protocols, for example, DNA purification. Here is the demo of some basic operations it performs: youtu.be/Bpaob7qM6Ao
