These are pilot whales photographed at the Porcupine Seabight (SW of Ireland) in 2013. They are deep diving specialist. They use a form of sonar to hunt. It’s also a hotspot for deep diving sperm whales. Missile tests carried out in this area would be an ecological distaster.
