Medically-trained members of the @OHNationalGuard will be at #Ohio's eight developmental centers this week to test residents and their staff. By getting a clear picture of the #COVID19 situation on these facilities, we can help prevent the spread.
2⃣ Testing will occur in facilities where residents or workers have confirmed or assumed positive cases. Testing will be conducted on all staff, and the testing of residents will be based on a clinically-driven strategy that targets those who have likely been exposed to #COVID19
1⃣ All staff in all Ohio nursing facilities will be tested. This will help nursing home administrators understand the status of the virus in their facilities and will help isolate the virus and help keep it from infecting their community.
➡ Beginning this week, newly organized Congregate Care Unified Response Teams, which will include medically-trained members of the @OHNationalGuard, will begin testing residents and staff within nursing homes. There will be two parallel paths for testing.⬇
New ➡ We will begin the testing of all residents and staff members of the state’s developmental centers. This is an important effort to try to limit the spread of COVID-19 in congregate care settings.

.@LtGovHusted: By the end of May, about 95% of the #Ohio economy will be open. But the true success of this phase depends on the individual and collective response. It will be up to each one of us to do the right thing by each other.
In the end, no order and no law will be as successful as a well-informed public who simply cares and respects each other. #InThisTogetherOhio #StaySafeOhio #ResponsibleRestartOhio
"You're accountable for this. It's not your patrons that are accountable... ultimately, you're accountable for this, and if you cannot do it, you cannot open." - @LtGovHusted on some businesses reportedly not enforcing the state's health guidelines. bit.ly/3dXSq3j
What you do every day and how you practice good safety habits will literally determine whether other people live or die. What you do could cost others their lives. When you go out to a bar or restaurant, have fun - but it's critical to keep social distancing. #StaySafeOhio
To my fellow Ohioans who don't think #COVID19 is still a threat - it is. If you aren't worried about yourself, you should worry about your mom, your dad, even strangers who could get #COVID19 from you.
When we look at how restaurants/bars operate, distance is key. We got reports over the weekend that most were doing an amazing job. But, it's clear that we have some outliers - businesses that were not doing what they should do.
I've always tried to be blunt about everything we are finding. I've been candid in saying that in this reopening phase, there is a significant risk. But, there are significant risks if we do not open up. It's up to all of us to open our economy but to do this in a safe way.
The truth is that our economic recovery in #Ohio is tied directly to how successful we are in preventing the spread of #COVID19. We are talking about the slowing of the spread. This can only be done by distance. More distance, less spread of the disease.
