So much about the immigration and asylum system is just completely unknown to people day to day. Some examples:
#BBCBreakfast using the term "anti immigration demonstrations" Are Ukrainians being attacked? Are white Aussies working in bars being targeted? Or is it black & brown people, regardless of where they were born? & if its the latter is there a better word that can describe that?
The fact is, it is of course possible to talk about immigration policy without being racist, I do it literally every day. But most conversations in the UK about immigration are driven by racism. And that has been denied for too long, now it can’t be denied any longer. #r4today
