Sometimes we train in the sunshine. Sometimes we train in the rain. @KBreweur @chccs @ChapelHillFD @CarrboroFire @CTEforNC

Working on raising our skills with @ChapelHillFD. Ladders, fire behavior, extinguishers, thermals, and investigation. What a great morning of training. @chccs @CTEforNC @KBreweur @CTEWorks

Some of our students became NCs newest certified firefighters by completing live fire training, some of the first still in high school. Huge thanks to everyone that's helped them on this journey.@chccs @CTEforNC @CTEWorks @KBreweur @NC_OSFM @waketechcc @ChapelHillFD @CarrboroFire

Giving students an opportunity to enter a fulfilling career right out of high school is a statewide priority. We are happy to have this mission supported from our program all the way up.
Aligning the K-12 education system with workforce needs has long been a priority for me. This report is fantastic news for NC because it shows the hard work that @CTEforNC educators across the state are doing to bridge the skills gap. Way to go @ncpublicschools & @UCPSNC…

Fire students are sharing their knowledge and running our students and staff through some drills on fire extinguishers and overall fire safety. @chccs @CTEforNC @KBreweur @CTEWorks @NC_OSFM

Mayday, safety, and survival means protecting and rescuing our own. Yesterday we spent most of the day training with @ChapelHillFD in smoke, going through mazes, hooking up RIT packs, and navigating obstacles. It was a great day! @chccs @CTEforNC @KBreweur @CTEWorks

We needed to have our bottles hydroed. Might as well get a tour of the operation. Thanks to Palmetto Hydro Solutions for the service and education. @chccs @CTEforNC @CTEforNC @CTEWorks @KBreweur

Partnerships are HUGE in what we can accomplish. This day we learned about and participated in first of the month checks and duties. @CarrboroFire @chccs @CTEforNC @CTEWorks @KBreweur

Thanks for @durhamcityfire coming out, teaching a few things, making Hazmat fun, and bringing Cosmo. @chccs @CTEforNC @CTEWorks @KBreweur

We've finished our Hazmat unit. This is a critical yet underappeeciated part of this career. The students enjoyed it, but you can't tell under those suits. @chccs @CTEforNC @CTEWorks @KBreweur

#CTE was proud to host our NASA downlink & Stem Fair @CHHS for our elementary, middle, and HS students - GREAT day for all❣️ Thx @moreheadplanet & Presenters. @chccs @NASA_Johnson
An out-of-this-world experience at the NASA event with the Culbreth crew! 🚀🌌 Exploring the mysteries of space and science is mind-blowing. Thanks to @NASA for an unforgettable field trip! 🌠🛰️

Showing off our program during our STEM day. Pretty cool to be part of the NASA uplink.

It's not just the students taking classes and getting better. Our Instructor is now 1 of 49 in NC with an Instructor III certification. This allows for data driven program development, besides just meeting a bunch of good people from North and South Carolina.

Just because the school year is over doesn't mean we stop learning. Partnerships with @durhamtech and White Cross FD brought Chief Risk Lasky the last 2 days to help us save ourselves and other FFs when things go sideways. @CTEforNC @KBreweur @CTEWorks @chccs

We are developing a growing partnership with SORS. The young women really enjoyed your assistance and instruction over these few days. From CPR to ropes and Rappelling. Thanks !
We had a great time teaching the 4 C's of CPR at Camp Ignite last week! Camp Ignite allows young women to explore fire service. We are grateful for the opportunity to teach these future firefighters and proud of their hard work! #girlpower #firesafety #cpr #savinglives

It really is fun when plans come together and great organizations join to make something great happen. @ChapelHillFD @CTEforNC @KBreweur @CTEWorks @CarrboroFire. We could not thank not only these but many others for making this a success. See Yall next year.
🚒 Watch and see how Camp Ignite is changing lives for students in rising grades 9-12! They gained confidence, demonstrated leadership, trained in teamwork…all while gaining fire service and life skills! A partnership between CHCCS CTE, @ChapelHillFD, and @CarrboroFire!
Many of our NC High Schools teach 911 telecommunication certifications. What a great place to start in this field at 18 years old.
It started with some hoses, ended with smoke and manikins. It was a great day practicing skills and pushing our limits. Thanks to @ChapelHillFD for letting us come over. @chccs @CTEforNC @KBreweur @CTEWorks

The results were not what we wanted. But the journey and experience was worth it. Well be back next year. @KBreweur @CTEWorks @SkillsUSAnc @CTEforNC
