I used to keep my chess goals and training plan in the iPhone Notes app, game notes in a paper notebook, training drills in a folder on my computer, and analyses and openings on Lichess. It was a bit all over the place. Now I keep it all in one notebook, printable because I like…

Why is this a brillant move? From one of my very own games

From one of my very own games

Nothing like reading a chess book at 1:30am while waiting for my 1‑month‑old daughter to fall asleep. Parenthood and chess study, both exercises in patience.

So true

Funny how exactly an year ago nobody knew about Gukesh, except those of us following the Indian prodigies & CBI for the past few years, and now everyone wants a piece of him. He's *still* attending random events.

We like it even more the other way around 😉

A lot of subreddits have now become Soviet style, over-moderated echo chambers where dissenting voices get removed instantly. Everything is micromanaged by these power mods to fit a narrow set of "acceptable" posts and viewpoints. The only true public forum is here on X.

I was just permabanned from r/WW2GermanPhotos because I praised the 88 mm cannon in a picture of Tiger tank. No joking. Mod thought 88 = Adolf Hitler so gone I am. "I have the permaban in 12 subreddits!"

Such a shame… Although I can see where you’re coming from, I don’t believe that’s the right way to address it. Is there hate speech on X? Yes. Misinformation? Absolutely. But it is not X, this is simply the world we are living in and all the more reason to continue posting,…

FIDE’s latest position on the Freestyle Chess Tour sounds quite reasonable for once

Who said classical chess had become boring and predictable?

And this was the stepping stone for the arrival of the most glorious chess move in history: En passant!

Ah yes, the pawn’s two-square move—introduced in 1280, misused by me in every game since. Good morning BTW!😎

4 rounds to go and Gukesh has very good chances to already leave the club of World Champions who never won Tata Steel

World Champion 🇮🇳 Gukesh Dommaraju is the sole leader after nine rounds! #TataSteelChess
