Happy to share my article for the Harvard Petrie-Flom Center's Critical Psychedelic Studies: Correcting the Hype online symposium. Let Go and Surrender: Considerations on MDMA Couples Therapy and Coercive Control - Petrie-Flom...

Historic and contemporary discussions on psychedelic and MDMA research largely ignore theories on power, control, and abusive interpersonal relationships.

PsyChild has a new domain: psychild.info Also major update: archival records and ongoing/discontinued studies are now listed separately.

🎇 New Year, new domain! 🎇 From now on, #PsyChild will be available on its own domain! The PsyChild database has been compiled and updated by @ChewingGinger and the site was programmed by me. Check it out at psychild.info! #DataScience #rstats #psychedelics #database

Children mostly accept the reality with which they're presented, which is why society's push to normalise for them the medicalisation/pathologisation of their suffering (erasing social, relational, spiritual, humanistic perspectives), is the opposite of preparing them for life.

We would rather be doing so many other things with our time than pointing out bad behavior & preventable harms. I got into the psychedelics field because I wanted to study trip reports; but I learned there were shady things happening that needed to be talked about, unfortunately.

On the psychedelic guide industrial complex. From what I've seen, most psychedelic harms are interpersonal — exacerbated by power imbalances w/ strangers claiming spiritual authority. Guides can't be described as necessary to harm reduction when they're often the source of harm.

I just want to be able to access drugs directly and not to be locked into a system where I need to hang out with anyone I don’t actually want to hang out with in order to use them.

Thank you @ChewingGinger for this incredible database on the experiments of psychotropic drugs on children, very usefull for historians!

@zoe_dubus was so kind to provide a very early record of an experiment with psychedelics (LSD) in 2 children (France, 1959) to the PsyChild database. The document, held in a small archive in France, is in very poor condition. But according to @zoe_dubus, some passages

Not all therapists who touch patients will abuse them, but almost all therapists who sexually abuse patients will have touched them in seemingly 'harmless' ways before, eroding boundaries and building trust. Quote below from patient/victim of Ingrasci newspapers.com/article/the-bo…

Seems extra arbeitary when considering that TR-PTSD is more often than not defined as one failed psychotherapeutical and one failed pharmacological intervention. Also the reason why I still assign TRD study entries in the PsyChild database as MDD (which seems vague enough).

The experience of @SashaSisko demonstrated that those listed were more than nominally #Wonderbanned. Check it out 👇

The claim that "there are currently 120 studies of ketamine treatments for mental illness in [adolescent] population" is tmk very, very false. It's hard to keep track, but ruehr.org/shiny/PsyChild/ lists less than 15 ongoing trials with this indication in this population.

In this episode of the psychedelic medicine podcast, Dr. @johnedwardsmd joins to discuss the potential of ketamine treatments for mental health conditions in adolescent populations. bit.ly/ketamine4adole…
