Chittagong, Bangladesh: Protests by Hindu community over the violent attacks
'Bangladesh is now India’s potential enemy, Pakistan a declared enemy, China an open enemy' And if I may add: Nepal in a sulk, Maldives estranged, Sri Lanka out of sorts @virsanghvi writes in his column #SharpEdge #ThePrintOpinion theprint.in/opinion/sharp-…
In Bangladesh, there’s an anti-Hindu pogrom happening. Let’s be clear. That ain’t a revolution.
The Hindus of Bangladesh need your help. If you cannot, at least do not insult them by putting up PR pictures of men guarding their religious places.
A desperate Hindu woman records a video to beg for help. Islamists have vandalized her home and threatened to k*ll her husband if they find him. So far, the world remains silent
Bangladesh…now an enemy? Too soon. theprint.in/opinion/sharp-…
How very absurd- If a minority is being systematically attacked where is the question of exercising caution in reading this " as an indication of a larger and darker political development in Bangladesh." Weird logic @scroll.in

Bangladeshi students had just human rights concerns against PM Hasina. It's good she is gone. But the violence now targeting Hindus is wrong. PM Yunus must uphold the rule of law & prevent the targeting of temples or people of any political party or faith from violence.
India stands out - in a region where country after country has seen widespread persecution of minorities leading to alarming decline in their population shares. A true democracy of 1.4B, India upholds the values of life & liberty for all - as seen in rising shares of minorities.
Political changes are mere symptoms of deeper structural changes happening in societies, of which demographic change is an important component. Dr @ShamikaRavi, Abraham Jose & Apurv Mishra write in this latest EAC-PM Working Paper. 1/8 eacpm.gov.in/wp-content/upl…
Sometimes hatred pretends to be revolution.
Protests were led by students for a while but what’s happening now is led by Jamaat and its ‘student wing.’ The targets are chosen purposefully. Don’t think student leaders would go after 400 police stations, Indian cultural center, temples and minority businesses.
I did an interview on @ndtv and the understanding of the anchor and the other guests was just shocking. Even a former ambassador spoke about protests "spearheaded" by the Jamaat. It was just pure fantasy. It seemed they had taken the most extreme of the Awami League narratives…
