It always sounds strange to me whenever I hear someone say "Happy Memorial Day". I would imagine it's the same for most people who have served. I try to remind them of the reason why we have this day, and hopefully it makes a little bit of difference.
There are certain days that will always be remembered. Today is one of those days for me. 38 years ago, I started my 21-year career in the United States Air Force. I met so many great people and traveled to places that most people will never be able to. It was a great journey.
