St. Thomas devotes literally hundreds upon hundreds of pages immediately following those proofs to articulating precisely why the First Cause must be uncaused and why He must possess all the traditional divine attributes, you have no idea what you’re talking about

Thomas Aquinas' classical 3 proofs of God are all stating that things can't exist without a creator; and then, when someone asks who created the creator, to stammer and peel out like Leonard Nimoy when the nerd tells him he has 15 minutes left. Smartest guy in history brw

Yep, just finished reading it, it is trying to normalise monogamy between 2 people, not man and woman. As expected from the poet of the mouth.

To categorically reject casuistic moral theology is reject a dimension of moral theology that is integral to its purpose which is to assist priests in fulfilling their sacramental ministry in the tribunal of penance

The whole point of God choosing the Jews was to show that the very exclusivity of the covenental bond of love He shared with them was meant to symbolize the similarly nuptial kind of intimacy He wished to establish between Himself and the entire human race in Christ.

For all the valid criticisms that could be made against the manualist/casuist method, I firmly hold that the precision and clarity with which moral theology was done then was unmatched and if we fail to retrieve it the faithful will fall prey to either laxism or endless scruples

How can theologians retrieve what is valuable in casuistry for today?

this post is bad enough but reading it in his voice makes it unbearable

Little Adolf Nick Fuentes will always be a disgusting, vile POS, and nobody can change that.  And Qatarlson will always be a loathsome lowlife giving Little Adolf a megaphone, and for his own repulsive bigotry and antisemitism, and nobody can change that.  Nobody can protect them…

I don’t agree with Michael Matt on everything but I would much rather a thousand Michael Matt’s than one Vigano or Fr Altman

I can’t believe you are serious, Father? A couple of examples— For 35 years we have hosted the US chapter on the Chartres Pilgrimage, an event which has enraged the French bishops because it is so huge and has been responsible for bringing hundreds of thousands of people back…

if you’re going to debase yourself by using GPT for your longform twitter content at least be decent enough to remove the excessive em dashes so that you can minimize the number of people who will lose all respect for you upon catching you in the act
