and this is the real reason people complain that #Pluribus is “slow” - because they scroll anyway, waiting for gunshots or dramatic scoring to signal to them that something “important” is happening, instead of immersing themselves fully in the show’s gentle, devastating world.

“you can’t be scrolling on your phone while watching the show” speak on it karolina 🙂‍↕️

In your opinion, what is the most unabashedly romantic line in a film?

The T. rex entrance in Jurassic Park (1993) is flawless construction. The missing goat, the water ripples, the leg on the car. Spielberg teaches you how to feel fear before he ever shows you the monster.

From MARS

What character has the best buildup before they’re finally shown on screen?

The visual depiction of memory as not a factual record of events but as fallible and warped by perspective is such a great part of the KNIVES OUT franchise, esp in the first film, in which who is sitting next to Harlan at his party differs according to who's recounting it

Private equity firms are the grim reapers of capitalism. They buy up companies, strip them of their assets, cut most of the jobs, and then after extracting most of the value they sell off the companies leaving a trail of destruction for workers and communities.

Last month, Denny's was bought out by private equity in a $620 million deal. Now the company is closing 150 locations. It's the latest chain to be swallowed by private equity and see numerous workers lose their jobs.
