Django folks- what is the easiest way to handle GDPR and other legal requirements? @JamesTimmins @wsv3000
I am really starting to love the tech stack I am using. Django & Django Rest Framework on the back-end and ReactJS on the front-end. The beauty is that I have access to basically all of the best open source modules in the world. Anyone else running this stack?
Software Freelancers/Consultants- how do you track your time? What app do you use?
🤘 Starting today, Notion is free for personal use. We used to have a storage limit on our free plan, but no more! Everyone should have access to our tools to create what they need. Write, plan, and get organized at notion.so/personal. notion.so/personal
Django folks: When you write integration tests, do you favor using client.get() etc and just parsing the response using beautifulsoup or something? Or do you go the selenium route? @JamesTimmins @MikeHerman @wsv3000
Django folks: What's the best practice for displaying a view that has two slugs, e.g. /a-course-slug/some-lesson-slug ? I can't wrap my head around how to do this with a CBV - is it a DetailView? @JamesTimmins @wsv3000
So when do people *really* write functional tests? It always kinda feels like I am writing brittle tests that are going to break if I change a button label from "Ok" to "Yes". Thoughts?
Alright #django folks: I need to add the ability for admins to create video courses and for users to be able to preview these courses and purchase them if they want, and all this needs to go in an existing app portal. Roll it myself or use something like wagtail? @wsv3000 etc

So what do most (software developer) digital nomads actually do for work? Are they freelancing using a client base in the US? Are they finding tons of cheap jobs on UpWork? Are they bootstrapping startups that can generate enough cash to live off of?
Has anyone ever built an MVP in Django using templates and then converted it to a SPA app using React/Vue + Django Rest Framework? It *sounds* like it would work but I'm wondering how difficult it actually is to make the switch. #django #djangorestframework
