The Atlantic Niño weakens under climate change! Two articles led by L. Crespo @ClimaLands and Y. Yang at BNU investigating the future of this climate mode appeared in Nature Climate Change this month. I had the pleasure to comment on the new findings: nature.com/articles/s4155…

CO₂ emissions grow slower than economic activity (GDP) since CO₂/GDP declines over time. But why? CO₂/GDP declines as energy is used more effectively (Energy/GDP) through efficiency, structural change, etc, not because we use cleaner energy (CO₂/E). folk.universitetetioslo.no/roberan/GCB202…

So happy to hear about this pioneer measure in my home town. Bilbao is the first city in the world over 300000 inhabitants to impose a 30km/h limit in all its streets. Hope this is just the beginning. #sustainability #sustainablemobility #environment elmundo.es/pais-vasco/202…

Some fact resistant people (including a president) want to believe that hotter and drier weather due to climate change is not increasing the risks of wildfires. Well, it does! (thanks to @RARohde for graphics).

The difference between a low emission scenario (SSP126, left) and a high emission scenario (SSP585, right) for the Arctic is immense. This shows the percentage of CMIP6 models that have sea ice at a given location (>15% concentration), and how it changes over time.
