On June 4, Pres. Stanley finally made a statement to say that "I, too, recognize the urgency to address the climate crisis as an emergency..." president.msu.edu/communications… And with true urgency and leadership, he announced that MSU will establish a steering group. We demand better.
Dec: @ASMSU adopted Bill 57-45 to declare a climate emergency. Feb: Heard from @ASMSU_Pres that she "met with @MSU_Sustains to discuss the idea. They were fully on board [to] propose it to Pres. Stanley and suggest that the declaration be made on Earth day." Today: No declaration
What would a serious @ClimateMsu commitment to carbon neutrality look like? It might include something like Cornell’s long-term investment in geothermal.
