This brings together the various green related announcements made around, and in the budget. Very useful read.

PCS is opposed to the third runway and will work with those campaigning against it. We do so because you cannot move to Net Zero whilst expanding air travel. We also stand in solidarity with those who will lose their homes and livelihoods if the runway were to be built.

Government has announced today its backing of Heathrow airport’s own scheme to build a 3rd runway, involving tunnelling the M25 & £50 billion in cost, with 15.000 losing their homes, air & noise pollution increasing over millions across London & climate targets lost. Huge mistake

Here is Ed Miliband's take on the outcome of COP30. All countries present reaffirmed their faith in multilateralism, which is important and it's good that a coalition of countries wanting to develop a roadmap to transition away from fossil fuels emerged. theguardian.com/commentisfree/…

The NEC green committee will meet on 15 December. It will hold a wash up regarding Climate Change Week; seeing what we did well and what we didn't do so good. On 5 Dec, we will be holding an on-line meeting for Green Reps. Feedback from that will be discussed at the green comm.

COP30 ended in failure. The final text doesn't even mention fossil fuels! The petrostates fought against fossil fuel phaseout and won. It's essential that we all now play our part and put relentless public pressure on our political leaders to fight for it. theguardian.com/commentisfree/…

Environmental Audit Committee - nature isn't a blocker to housing growth, but is essential for building resilient towns. Skills shortages in ecology, planning and construction are what would make it difficult for the Gov to achieve housebuilding targets. theguardian.com/uk-news/2025/n…
