Generally, this should be the order of activity in sports performance based on skill & neurological demand 1. Sport skill practice 2. Sprinting 3. Plyometrics 4. Strength training 5. Hypertrophy/accessories 6. Conditioning Circumstances change, but this is a good start
Stop trying to dominate the development of athletes in fast & explosive sports with aerobic thought processes
Baseball players: - It’s OK to barbell bench - Do tons of short sprints, hill sprints & loaded sprints - Train in the frontal plane in off-season & out of it in in-season - Don’t worry about training your “off-side,” w/ rotation - Train anti-rotation as much as rotation
