In 2023, it was FOUR HUNDRED PERCENT more likely for a fired white coach to get replaced by a white coach than it was for a fired black coach to get replaced by a black coach. 400% is not a # to just brush aside! 🙏🙏 I hope AD’s and search firms do some serious soul searching.
Bad losses for the weekend Oregon State losing to Cap Baptist, does not help the Beavers. Texas State losing to Lehigh in over time does not help things going into revamped Pac 12. Georgia Tech losing to Drake not good for Jackets. Fresno State losing to Bakersfield= BAD

There are schools who’ve been able to buy enough early wins to avoid the early round hot seat board but you can not hide forever. The DM’s are full of tips and intel we don’t always share but just know there are a lot of bigger programs on much hotter ground than those listed.
Early but necessary hot list board based on play, expectations and success over tenure. 1) Boston College 2) Cincinnati 3) Georgia Tech 4) South Carolina 5) Virginia Tech 6) Charlotte 7) Delaware 8) Georgia State 9) Texas State 10) San Jose State This will change soon.
Memphis is 1-4 now and December schedule not looking promising. At Louisville (Thanks Nolan) Baylor at home Vandy at home At the Dentist office in Starkville vs Chris Jan’s and Mississippi State, WHY?!?!?!?! Then North Texas at home before conference play.
Live look at Purdue’s Matt Painter and his son Grant McCasland of Texas Tech following 30 piece w hot sauce.
Jon Scheyer and Dukes dismantling of Greg Paulus and Niagra 100 something to 40 something has us wondering if Greg did something to Jon back in college that he could not let go of??
They also understand the stakes of not winning when money is being spent. Today’s one year deals, there are a lot of lemons on the lots, the used cars man are out! Just because you came for X, if don’t perform well does not mean you get X the next year. Constant “valuation”.
Playing a player just because you made a decision thinking something was something it wasn’t or overvaluing/overpaying does NOT require you to continue down the road. If you double down and continue to play a bad stock, you will go broke. HM coaches have more to play with but

Pat Sellers has been in the game a long time as a coach. Experience and ability to adapt and sustain winning is a trait ADs better learn to figure out and value.
Rutgers loses a buy game to Central Connecticut. The epitome of brutality.
Hearing a lot of coaches talking about Return on investment now in this era. Once agreement made, two sides produce. If player does not produce, or contribute to winning coaches need to do what’s best for team and to position to win. Can’t play bad investments, move on.
There are so many players that are getting signed by inexperienced coaches who are taking kids off of high lights and post. And kids thinking their highlights and clips have substance. Not being able to improve players and teach is going to get a lot of coaches fired.
Yes the saying “get old stay old” has rung true, but talent is talent and skill is skill and IQ is IQ. Just because you’re older does not mean you work harder, do what is asked and have an understanding of how to win. High school coaches just became much more valuable.
Interesting input I got in the DMs on the potential of JUCO years not counting towards NCAA eligibility. 1) what a mess 2) this will further make evaluating situations from he high school prospect side much more exhaustive. 3) will further expose some coaches eval skills.
Cincy schedule is the best set up for success if they can pull off some meaningful wins. Home vs Louisville, will be tough but it is at home. Dayton and Xavier mean a lot and will matter heavily. Winning at Georgia December 13 is not a wild feat. Absolute great scheduling!
Which fanbase is the most ready to move on from their head coach? Yes there are some other schools who probably should have moved on their coach last year or years before but they simply don’t care about basketball as much as these 4.
Not sure any conference needs a great non conference slate as much as the American Conference. League where Rev Share/NIL is really influential, and fan bases want results. Being a 1 bid NCAA tournament league this year could Shocker something’s up.

Syracuse having Houston, Kansas, and Tennessee is a rough non conference stretch, but other than those 3 it is a who’s who of underwhelming programs. Only 4 games vs UNC, Duke or Louisville to make a splash in conference. Hoping for stats over NCAA tournament to hold on???

Kansas, Kentucky, and Michigan State all classic match ups in non conference. Losses at home to Georgetown or on road at Ohio State could be more harmful if neither goes on to have a good year.

Who was the most disappointing alumni hire ever in college basketball? Hubert has been moderately successful regardless of some opinions on here. Clyde Drexler was a trainwreck that had no expectations mind you.
