Happy 30th Birthday, WWW, and for changing our lives @timberners_lee 🙌 We fondly remember dipping our toes into programming by tinkering around with Neopets and MySpace themes. We can't wait to see what's next #ForTheWeb @webfoundation 🙏 buff.ly/2NY4eXD

Some of the non-technical issues that developers have: - Managers - Feeling disrespected - Interviews - Bullying by other developers e.g. through code review - Constant "upskilling" - Time pressure - Technical debt - Trust - Autonomy - Decision making - Engineering satisfaction

Half of people have left a job “to get away from their manager." blogs.wsj.com/atwork/2015/04…

Someone I worked on fun projects with, spent personal time with, and appreciated very much has taken their life. Please, check on your people. Just text them, see that they are OK, call and listen to them. Support them and let them know you’re there and you care.

Some of the most intelligent people you will meet are developers, yet they aren't consulted about the projects they work on. Some devs are only interested in code but there are others who could bring a lot of wisdom to other parts of the business.

The mental health and well being of developers is incredibly important for a successful business and a successful economy

Being a developer can be stressful - we are expected to understand enormous complexity and to deliver using a constantly shifting technical stack.

Developers are a huge asset to the economy yet their views about their role in the team and the challenges they face are rarely if ever considered by business.

We are interested in the perspective of developers. Being a dev can be a tough but rewarding existence - not many people, especially managers take the time to find out what we think and feel
