Discussing the overwhelming issue of codependency within the body of Christ & how taking care of ourselves is actually following God’s plan.
Codependent people often find themselves anxiously awaiting an expectation to be met. For centuries, Jesus’s birth was prophesied & for many, it grew into something He never promised us. He would come to seek and save the lost. Not make everyone behave.
📣You will NOT be held responsible for other people’s actions.
While we are affected by other people’s actions, we are not held accountable for their actions. We are held accountable, though, for both our actions and our reactions.
Anger turned outward is blame Anger turned inward is depression What we don’t work out, we act out
Being #codependent means carrying a bag that is too heavy for you so you ask friends, family, and children to help you carry it. But no one is allowed to see what’s in the bag to make it light enough for the owner to carry.
Moms and Dads, An xbox, basketball hoop, or a new house cannot make up for ignored mental illness, buried trauma, divorce, or substance abuse. There is no substitute for a healthy parent. Take care of yourself because “stuff” cannot take care of your child.
When you are born…you look like your parents. When you die…you look like your decisions. @CrawfordLoritts
Many are the plans in a man’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails. Proverbs 19:21
All a man’s ways seem innocent to him, but motives are weighed by the Lord. Proverbs 16:2
Christian, your Service, Hospitality, Mentoring, & Giving Is meant to point people to the Savior, not make you look like the savior.
If God has forgiven them, you should too. There is room for everyone at The Cross.
People pleasing=Fear of man=telling God “I fear this sinner more than I fear you”
God, Help out impatience decrease so your will can become clearer.
“Obedience is a product of faith. Obedience outside of faith only leads to self righteousness, lack of intimacy, and exhaustion” -@JackieHillPerry
God will never compromise integrity for achievement. He will never use immoral means to get a moral result.
Trust is expensive, paid for with a thousand proven moments.
We can never be perfect, so how do we mimic Jesus? 📍grace 📍mercy 📍forgiveness 📍love 📍service
Codependency tells you to trade blame and shame for freedom because there’s no responsibility
We can only repent at the rate in which we forgive.
