3/4 of Engineering Ladder criteria are not technical. There is so much that CS degrees and bootcamps don't prepare you for, that you are supposed to just "pick up" on the job. The goal of @Coding_Career is to make all this tacit knowledge explicit 👨🏫 learninpublic.org

I'd be more keen to to pay for courses/books on "soft tech" topics, e.g. @Coding_Career, because there are no "docs" for that.
Finally finished "The Coding Career Handbook" by @swyx. I highly recommend it to any dev wanting to be more conscious about their career direction. I feel like I was subconsciously aware about many topics, but having them clearly explained is a great way to understand them better

Everyone is a pro on the internet. Everyone can argue Typescript vs Javascript. But don't let the noise distract you. Network with people that are actually growing: Github, Open Source, Portfolio Projects, etc Don't stray away from your strictly defined career path.

We've gathered a list of books that members of the community have found most valuable in their career. We've tried to collect a list of books that are timeless, valuable information for permanently leveling up — not the latest trendy books and technologies reactiflux.com/learning/books

A fantastic post on how to stay in the game of programming for a very long time: codefol.io/posts/the-fort… - Try many things - There are no "levels" - Get weird - It's still early!

a great example of this is @Coding_Career It's a great resource on its own, but swyx shares an intense, in depth, jumbo sized bibliography of source material that provided a foundation for the book ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
No. No, no, no, no. It’s amazing. Every word of what you just said was wrong. guy from HR thinks he knows how to negotiate but has only internalized how to close candidates quickly by making them think they got a good deal
