3/3: But I’ve run out of plant pots, so that’s where Tip Boxes come in (all approved by departmental bio safety guy). Drill holes in base, pot in baby spider plant, use the lid as a drip tray. I now have a couple of dozen little plants to cheer up some Freshers’ Uni rooms :-)

Spent the most amazing week with these colleagues and Year 2 students from @CUBiosciences, doing a week-long Education Research experience on “How to better support students going into/through Yr1?”. Generated their own data and presented their findings like real pros!! Awesome!
Just been re-reading article about need to teach #SciComm skills to #students ..." even more important now! yet we are often heavily focused on presenting to peers (conference / posters). How may #bioscience programmes have core #Scicomm training?
Where does science communication (yellow speech bubbles 🗨️) fit into a scientific project? This is what our students think! Had some lovely feedback from a student today about how she really enjoyed getting off her seat and doing a more tactile task in class with @EmmaYhnell
