Just a High-School Theatre Techie Looking to Help others out and have fun along the way!

It personally boils my blood when actors go on tech to try to impress the directors for the next audition.

If your gonna be a higher figure in technical theatre, you must lead by example. During rehersal, if you make your crew stand, you need to.

Its hard to let a HS crew grow if all the performers and directors wanna have free shows. But yet, want nice light shows and sets...

Does anybody know if its possible to use a DMX Dongle like ShowXpress or MyDMX to control Source Four/Par ETC dimmer packs?

How being a Tech Director goes - tell everybody, what to do, when to do it, and if they dont do it, its you who gets the blame.

Looks as if i will be up all night, reconsidering how my tech works, and switching positions...

Why must both Sound and Lighting systems go down during the same show? Murpheys Law...

To all of my Fellow Techs, should Tech Crew try to break up both physical and verbal fights between performers?

Just because were not performers, doesn't mean we wouldn't like our friends and family's to attend our productions.. 😞 @TheatreProblems

Can we get a Lavalier Mic? Oh yeah sure... No, not that one.. #SoundOpProbs #Theres5DifferentTypes

Ugh did all of the pre-show checklist by myself since no one else decided to help me.

So excited to be bringing my tech crew out of there summer dazes. Time to fix all the things that (actors) broke this year!

Lighting Designers... Never.. I Repeat.. Never program one of your favorite songs. It will ruin the song for you.

While all the Crew and Performers are on summer break, im still sitting in my 'office' getting ready for next year... sigh.

Nothings more time consuming than fixing a set of grand curtains...

I still don't understand why everyone thinks the first few rows are the best... Half your view is the rise of the stage.

Nothing like you rig crew making mistakes and having to pull it all down the day before opening night. No time for dress rehearsal now.

Well, I'm pretty sure me, my SM, ASM, and Lighting designer are the only students to have offices at my HS.

If your TD tells you do to a set a certain way, do it that way. Don't let a cast member or someone talk you into doing if different.
