Encounters with counters .. With 64 counters you can make a square with length of side 8, or a circle with diameter 9. This observation of ratios and similar areas of 2 different shapes pre-dates Pythagorus.

Top Tip Tuesday - embed learning by concealing a classroom display under a large sheet and challenge pupils to recall what was there. Make the activity more interactive by asking pupils to work together to re-create the information from memory. Let me know how you get on!
